Upload your first APK

Create a workspace, upload an APK, and watch it boot on a real Android device in the browser.

SpawnDroid runs a real Android 13 device for you, installs your build on it, and streams the screen into your browser. Nothing to install locally, no emulator, no device plugged in. This guide takes you from zero to a running preview.

1. Create your workspace

Sign up and you land in a workspace for your organisation. The Free plan includes 50 streaming minutes every month — no credit card required.

2. Upload the APK

  1. Open the consoleGo to your dashboard and click Upload APK (or press ⌘K and choose it).
  2. Pick a buildDrag in a universal .apk, or browse for one. Builds up to 512 MB are supported.
  3. Wait a few secondsThe manifest is decoded, the app is stored, and a device is booted behind the scenes.

3. Watch it run

The player streams the device as soon as it is ready. Tap, type and scroll — your input is forwarded to the real app, not a recording of it.

Troubleshooting

  • If a build shows as unparsed, it may be a split APK or use an unsupported compression — rebuild a universal APK.
  • If the device shows “Starting device…”, it is still booting; first boot usually takes well under a minute.
  • If playback stalls, reload the player, or check the Live Logcat tab for errors from the app itself.
